If you are planning to hire a transfer maid in Singapore, then first take a look at the ministry of Manpower guidelines.

To transfer a helper directly, both the current and new employer must follow certain steps.

Procedures For Maid Transfer

For Current Employer:

You need to

1. Send the FDW for a 6-monthly medical examination

2. The second one is to sign the declaration form which is given by the new employer or employment agency, confirming you agree to the transfer.

3. Paying the levy - Pay the levy up till the date of transfer

4. Work permit card - Wait for the new employer to issue her work permit, Once it has done, her current work permit will be cancelled

5. The work permit card needs to be returned within the one-week transfer after the transfer has taken place.

For New Employer:

You need to

1. Ensure that the maid has gone for her latest 6-monthly medical examination.  (At least 30 days before the helper's work permit expires)

2. Get the consent letter from the current employer for transfer a maid and apply for a new work permit at least 30 days before the helper's work permit expires. You will receive the IPA letter, which will state the transfer date, which is the date you need to get the new work permit issued.

3. Print a copy of the declaration form & sign it, also ensure the current employer and helper signed it as well.

4. Upload the current declaration form and print the temporary work permit through the MOM website.

5. Once the maid gets the temporary work permit, the maid can start working for you.

So it is necessary to follow the all guidelines strictly to transfer a maid.
